The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) is a professional course designed to provide students with the fundamental knowledge and skills required in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. The program focuses on the preparation, dispensing, and proper use of medicines along with basic healthcare and pharmaceutical practices.

At Modern International Group of Education Institute, the D.Pharm course is designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical training in pharmacy. Admission Procedure

The admission procedure for Diploma in Pharmacy is totally based on the rules of the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi and the State Board of Pharmacy.

Students who have completed 10+2 with Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics) from a recognized board are eligible for admission to the course.

Admission is conducted according to the guidelines of the Board and Pharmacy Council authorities.

Eligibility for Appearing in Examination

  • Students who have undergone the prescribed course of study and completed the required academic sessions are eligible to appear in the examination.
  • Students must maintain regular attendance and satisfactory performance in both theory and practical classes.
  • Candidates must have attended minimum required classes and practical training as per the rules.
  • A candidate may be allowed to appear in the examination only if they have completed the prescribed academic and practical requirements.

Examination

There shall be an examination for Diploma in Pharmacy Part-I at the end of the first academic year and an examination for Diploma in Pharmacy Part-II at the end of the second academic year.

Students must obtain the minimum required marks in both theory and practical examinations in order to pass.

Practical Training

Practical training is a mandatory part of the Diploma in Pharmacy course.

Students who have appeared in the final examination of Diploma in Pharmacy must undergo practical training in any of the following institutions approved by the Pharmacy Council of India:

  • Hospital pharmacy
  • Community pharmacy
  • Pharmaceutical company
  • Government approved medical store

Students must obtain the minimum required marks in both theory and practical examinations in order to pass.

Training Period

The practical training must be completed for not less than 500 hours within 3 months.

During training, students gain practical experience in:

  • Dispensing medicines
  • Drug storage and handling
  • Prescription reading
  • Pharmaceutical calculations
  • Patient counseling
  • Pharmacy management

After successful completion of the training, students must submit a training certificate issued by the concerned institution.
